Hey there, book devourers!
I hope you’ve been having a good weekend. Every other Sunday post a couple of lines from books I’ve enjoyed. i love getting to connect with you guys by sharing. The beauty of this post, also, is that I keep it short and sweet. So, here you go. Love you, guys. Have a good week!
“We suffer so everyone else can smile.” (Children of Virtue and Vengeance, Tomi Adeyemi)
This one hit me on a personal level. I know I have an attitude and sarcasm is my joystick, but beyond that, I set so much aside for those around me, to care for them. I put away my feelings to take care of theirs. In some cases, I find myself taking them on and carrying them for those people. Many would look at this as people pleasing and maybe it is, but I don’t do it to make people like me. I set all of my pain and heartache, loneliness, desperation, depression, and more aside because it’s not as important as they are at the moment. I can’t help that. I understand that self-care is important, don’t get me wrong. Why do you think I dive into reading? LOL. Still, this one resonated pretty hard. I get it. I really get it. My greatest happiness comes from the happiness of those I love around me.
“Bee stings are very educational.” (The Ragwitch, Garth Nix)
So there’s something funny about this one. First off, I love Nix. A wonderful author of fantasy. Very light, but I love the family and friendship he creates amid danger and quests. Really gives me the LOTR vibes. Second, and mainly, I read this factual post the other day about how Morgan Freeman had turned his Mississippi home into a bee refuge . We’re talking 120+ acreage. Also, I love bees and am very into saving the bee. I even garden flowers every year to help them. Granted, my tiny yard is nothing compared to 120+ acres. Anywho, how do I get a job as a beekeeper at this bee refuge!? LOL. But seriously.
More to come soon…
