My booklovers!
Some book quotes move you like an earthquake, tsunami, tornado—you pick. They can move us with force and strike our hearts like lightning, stunning us. Here are a few of my favorites.
“…grownups acting like the worst kind of kids, kids acting like they knew what was going on.” (Vineland, Thomas Pynchon)
This is a book that blew my mind up. It was wild and definitely one I need to come back to. It’s also a book that struck me with wisdom I didn’t expect to find.
“You should know the difference between secrets and lies.” (Red Queen, Victoria Aveyard)
Discovering the difference between the can (many times) be difficult. This quote moved me because it was so dark. Secrets and lies are what we use to protect ourselves, but they also hurt others.
“Laughing doesn’t make bad things worse any more than crying makes them better. It doesn’t mean you don’t care, or that you’ve forgotten. It just means you’re human.” (Hollow City, Ransom Riggs)
I love this! It’s rings so trues, but I know it’s not always easy to come to terms with this. We are only human and you shouldn’t bottle up your emotions. You have to feel what you must and guilt, relief, happiness, sadness is all natural. Feel no shame for it.
More to come soon…
