The Sundown Rundown – Book Wrap-Up for February 2023

Hey there, bookworms!

Though it’s the shortest month of the year, it’s been a productive one. Slowly, but surely, I am catching up on book reviews. It’s just about the one thing I’ve been able to keep steady right now. I’ve been in one hell of a funk. Writing inspiration has illuded me and I’m just hoping it’s because of the last bit of grey winter sucking me into the void.

This month was a whirl of great but debatable reads. So, take a scroll to catch up on any reviews you might’ve missed. I don’t have a book haul at the moment. Money has bee a little tight, but hopefully soon!

Stay swanky, book humes.

Fear Street: The Beginning

Author: R. L. Stine

Simon & Schuster

Welcome back to Fear Street. More chilling stories come to haunt the teens of Shadyside.

The Merciless IV

Author: Danielle Vega

Goodreads

Demons enjoy two things. Mean girls and full circles.

Finale

Author: Stephanie Garber

The Scarlet Reader

Caraval is over and, Tella and Scarlett are ready to pursue their happy endings. Things take a turn when The FAtes are released. A new game begins and it’s deadly.

The Death Card

Author: Cole Merrill

Amazon

Be careful when you go witch hunting. The witch may just find you. That was the case for this group of teens.

The Last Werewolf

Author: Glen Duncan

Amazon

Being the only werewolf in the world isn’t as great as it sounds. It’s enough to drive Jacob to the brink. Then he meets Tallulah. The woman that didn’t make him the only werewolf in the world anymore and gave him a reason to live.

Favorite Book This Month: Finale was just as splendid and magical as I’d hoped. It was darker than the previous books but the stakes were higher! Both exciting and tragic, but it kept me guessing.

Least Favorite Book This Month: The LAst WErewolf was such a struggle. I couldn’t even focus. I love gothic tales and werewolves are up my alley, but for some unexplainable reason, this was just boring. I don’t know if it was the timing or what, but fetch, in this case, didn’t happen. I’m going to give it a go another day.

More to come soon…
