Speedy Quote Sunday

Hey there, book lovers!

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend has been good. As is tradition with this post, I’ll keep it short and sweet. I’ve got a few lines from books I’ve read and enjoyed for you. I love getting to share lines that I’ve loved from books. It’s these lines that have left an impact of sorts. And who knows, maybe these snippets will have you adding these books to your own TBR. Then again. maybe you’ve read them.

“In the dark may you contemplate the cracks in your soul wherein leaks wickedness, Pocket.” (The Serpent of Venice, Christopher Moore)

Poor Pocket. It’s never an easy task to deal with one’s own wickedness. But, this does call to the reader, I feel. As if we, too, should think of the bits of wickedness that leaks from our own hearts and how we try to hide it.

“Some of us like the dark. It’s what we know.” (The Sun Down Motel, Simone St. James)

Boy, isn’t that the truth? I don’t mean just lovers of True Crime. There’s a little darkness everywhere and a part of us enjoy dwelling in it.

My favorite thing about this week’s post is how these two lines play on one another. If you’ve read either of these, what are your thoughts? Have a memorable line that tickled you?

More to come soon…

-K.
