Hey there, book demolishers!
You’ve happened across the Speedy Quote Sunday. So, come on in, take a quick scroll (because I’m not about to take up all of your time), and check out a couple of lines from books I’ve enjoyed or just gotten hooked on a split-second amazing line that struck me just right.
“We all create stories to protect ourselves.” (House of Leaves, Mark Z. Danielewski)
This book scared the hell out of me. It was remarkable and terrifying and incredible. This line really got me thinking how unnervingly true this is, and when you put that into a horror novel it makes it scary, too.
“Love is a bitch. There’s no getting around it. But I’ll get to that later…” (CarniePunk, Rachel Caine, Holly Black, and more)
This shorty story collection is one of my absolute favorites! This line was so blunt and also felt complicated with the last bit. I love its tone and the way it presses the reader to remain patient. And you know what? They’re not wrong. love is a bitch.
