Hey there, book cult!
Holy hell, it’s the end of 2021. And yet, how many of us are still processing 2020? LOL.
While the end of the month fastly approaches, I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season and that you’ll have a happy New Year. For me, this year has been a bit of a blur. So as the month comes to a close and you’re feeling ready for that second glass of wine, go ahead and take a scroll to see what you might’ve missed this month.
School Spirits (Hex Hall series)
Author: Rachel Hawkins

The Brannicks have been monster hunters dating back for centuries. Presently, Izzy is dealing with her dissociative mother and the disappearance of her twin sister. She’s hoping this next case will help her mother see that she can manage a hunt on her own. The only problem? She has no idea how to be a normal high school teenager.
Whiskey Words & A Shovel II (Whiskey Words & A Shovel)
Author: R. H. Sin

Sin revisits his emotional tethers between relationships-having them and surviving them-and their interconnecting with the world.
BTVS Omnibus Vol. 7 (BTVS Omnibus)
Author: Joss Whedon

This volume concludes with the final season of the TV series. Multiple stories of different dimensions, old enemies and allies, and the last hoorah before the epitomal end. All the moments we waited for and never got. Buffy still struggles with the loss of her mom and the coming battle.
We Were Restless Things
Author: Cole Nagamatsu

Still grieving her closest friend, Noemie struggles with the fact that somebody claiming to be him is contacting her. Even more, a lake sometimes shows up in the middle of the woods behind her house and she’s certain it killed him.
March Book 3 (March Trilogy)
Author: John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, Nate Powell

The third book concludes with Lewis and hundreds of thousands of others marching for the right to register to vote.
Favorite Book This Month: We Were Restless Things was beautifully written with incredible imagery and artwork that created such a beautful, dark fantasy to get lost in.
Least Favorite Book This Month: School Spirits just seemed extra silly to the point of meh for me.
More to come soon…
