Midnight Tease – September 2021

Hey there, book nerds!

It’s September and time for pumpkins, pumpkin flavored everything, leaves changing colors, hot tea, and spooky movies. That’s damn right. I’m one of those. The ones that begin the All Hallow’s Eve dance right quick. However, I will say, aside from a good pumpkin carving and pie, I’m not super huge on the pumpkin fad. LOL.

Welp. It’s the midnight hour and if you’re awake then you might be a night owl like me. Personally, this is the best time for reading. The world is quiet. It’s peaceful and there’s nothing to keep me from devouring a good book. Who needs sleep anyway? And since you’re up and possibly in a reading mood, take a scroll to see what’s coming up on my TBR this month. Who knows, you may find a book or two you’ve read or want to put on your own TBR.

Coming Soon…

Amazon
Afterworlds
Author: Scott Westerfeld

Author of the Uglies/Pretties series, I found this one and was intrigued. A double-world tale that piqued my curiosity. While this will be my first Westerfeld book, I’ve heard nothing but good things about his dystopian.

Goodreads
We Were Restless Things
Author: Cole Nagamatsu

One of the newer releases, I’m pretty stoked about this one. I get pulled in by the ones with strange incidents. This gave me a Wayward Pines/American Horror Story vibe. But it’s also considered coming of age? Thrifty-nifty.

Amazon
Snow Falling
Author: Jane Gloriana Villanueva, Caridad Pineiro

As a fan of Jane the Virgin, I was stunned this became an actual published book. This is definitely one to tickle my entertainment bone. Of course, I’m totally going to hear Gina Rodriguez’s voice narrating this whole thing as I read it. LOL.

Currently…

Amazon
Merciless (Merciless #1)
Author: Danielle Vega
Tattered Cover
Phantom of the Opera
Author: Gaston Leroux

Up For Review…

Goodreads
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Author: Ann Brashares
Goodreads
Go the Distance
Author: Jen Calonita

What are you reading this month? Any new releases you’re excited about? Not gonna lie, Dark and Shallow Lies by Ginny Myers Sain sounds wicked good. It also takes place in one of my favorite settings. Louisiana where the juju is strong.

More to come soon…
