Sundown Rundown – August 2021

Hey there, book hoarders!

We’re at the end of August already. Holy hell. It’s been a busy month, but I’ve read quite a few good books. I wasn’t able to get out a book list or a book tag, but I have some ideas for next month so keep an eye out.

Right now, the sun is setting, you’re off work and in need of some relaxing. Personally, I enjoy my evenings on the porch, enjoying twilight. I especially enjoy it during this time of year when the sun sets later, the sky turns a multitude of colors, and the breeze is filled with warm oak. The cicadas are singing. I love everything about it. It’s a moment that I can take for myself and let the world melt away.

And while you’re relaxing you can take a scroll to catch up on any reviews you may have missed from this month.

That Summer

Author: Sarah Dessen

Goodreads

A summer can be filled with and overwhelming amount of emotions and leave you spinning.

March Vol. 2 (March trilogy)

Author: John Lewis

Top Shelf Productions

The second volume in this three-part trilogy follows John as he joins the Freedom Riders and was hailed as one of the six leaders of the civil rights movement.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Author: Stephen Chobsky

Navigating high school can be hard. Trying to be a part of life can be harder. Charlie’s giving it his best shot and with Patrick and Sam, he manages to do all right.

Beautiful Redemption (The Maddox Brothers #2)

Author: Jamie McGuire

Goodreads

Thomas Maddox is known for being arrogant and impossible in the San Diego FBI office, but in walked Liis Lindy and his world changed. Though tasked to pretend they’re a couple but when the lines blur it’s unclear what’s pretend and what isn’t.

Favorite Book This Month: Beautiful Redemption made the sparks fly this month! I can’t wait to continue the series.

Least Favorite Book This Month: That Summer didn’t hit any special mark for me. Nothing about it was memorable except that it reminded me of a couple of boring, whiny summers I had as a tween. Not my most favorite of memories.

More to come soon…

-K.
