The Sundown Rundown – June 2021

Hey there, book nerds!

Holy shit, it’s the end of June already!? Wow. That was fast. Between work and getting those summer book lists out and life, I’ve been a busy bee. So taking a minute to relax is nice. Just sit back, on the porch, with a nice drink and sigh in all of that gorgeous summer sky. The fireflies peek out and the air is cooling down. Unless you’re where I am right now and storms are raging outside, whipping the trees pretty hard, and lightning streaks the bleak sky. I love a good lightning storm. Gives me some of the best sleep.

While relaxing, I’ve got the end of the month wrap-up for you to scroll through. A chance to check out any review you might’ve missed this month.

BTVS Omnibus: Vol. 5

Author: Joss Whedon

Amazon

High school is over. The college years are coming. Until then, there is the time in between and an apocalypse. There’s always an apocalypse though, right?

The Brightest Night (Origin #3)

Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Amazon

Evie is still trying to figure out who she is and what she can do. Her life has turned upside down and it continues to twist and turn

House of Leaves

Author: Mark Z. Danielewski

Barnes & Noble

When your house continues to grow with a darkenig abyss and something inside of it growls

The Serpent of Venice (Fool #2)

Author: Christopher Moore

Goodreads

Pocket’s foolishness takes him to Venice for revenge and even make a pit stop to save his friends and stop and evil plot. And there’s a mermaid.

Favorite Book This Month: The Serpent of Venice is absolutely my favorite this time around. This month has been hard in many ways and this one helped give me relief with laughter and Shakespeare.

Least Favorite Book This Month: It’s going to be House of Leaves but only because it took me so long to finish. Scary as hell though. Little bland here and there but overall it was fantastic. Just super long.

This wasn’t a big month for reviews, but I did get a lot of reading in on the side. I can’t wait to share the ones I’m on right now. Until then, see you in July!

More to come soon…

-K.
