Hey there, book addicts!
Happy Sunday! Bloody Sunday…Bah! Just kidding. I hope you’ve been having a good weekend. I’ve got the Speedy Quote Sunday where I speedily shared a couple quotes from books I’ve enjoyed because I don’t want to monopolize the rest of your weekend but just share a couple meaningful quotes to give you food for thought or to possibly inspire you to put that book on your TBR.
“Me and normal have never really been on speaking terms.” (Ill Wind, Rachel Caine)
I fell in love with this series so fecking fast and this quote just reminds me of why. Talking about relatable. normal is overrated. I don’t do overrated. So, I guess that’s why normal and I have never been friends.
“Because you were a freak and I was a freak, and being two freaks together was better than being two freaks alone.” (The Past and Other Things That Should Stay Buried, Shaun David Hutchinson)
I am so in love with this novel. SDH has such a beautiful, weird talent in storytelling and it’s everything to me. He’s got a way of reaching out to the population that doesn’t fit the lemming norm and I appreciate that. Deepy. This line took away loneliness and replaced it with belonging and even the abnormal deserve that. Everyone has a tribe. Maybe it has many people in it and maybe it just has one. Maybe you’re a freak and maybe you’re not. All in all, we’re all freaky in our own right. Just embrace it. Embrace others. Embrace yourself.
More to come soon…
-K.
