Midnight Tease – February 2021

Hey there, book hoarders!

I hope you all are doing well. It is the midnight hour. If you’re up too, then you’re like me. A night owl. The hootiest of the hooty. This is when I get my best writing done and when I get to do my reading. It’s my time for me-time. Since you’re up, grab a snack and take a scroll to catch. what I’m tackling from my TBR this month! There are some that are new and some I’ve been waiting over a year to read. I’m all giddy about it. Do you ever get that feeling? It’s a delightful one. Take a peek at what’s coming up. Maybe you’ll recognize a few.

Coming Soon…

Penguin Random House
Escape Room
Author: Maren Stoffels

I started seeing these little thriller/horror books pop up around October last year and thought, “What the hell, why not?”. I’m actually pretty giddy. Escape rooms are typically so much fun, though the movie based on that particularly deadly one, not so much. It was a good movie though! I’d love to see a sequel. And this book sounded like a fun trip.

Kalahari
Author: Jessica Khoury

i bought this purely form the cover. I don’t do that often but the vibes of this one was strong. Vibrant and lush color with a lion over the savannah which typically represents strength, warrior, leadership, even coming hardship to test one’s will. I get quite curious about the books you don’t hear much about, like this one.

Out of the Easy
AuthorL Ruta Sepetys

Salt to the Sea is probably the most well-known one that I know about, especially since it was made into a film. Honestly, that one didn’t grab my attention nearly as much as this one did. Beautiful cover and the premise sounded amazing. Of course, it takes place in the city of New Orleans so there’s that delicious perk too. LOL.

The End (ASOUE #13)
Author: Lemony Snicket

The final book of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I’m excited to finally reach the end, yet also feel cathartic about it. It’s been one long, ever exhausting journey. Exhausting for the Baudelaires, I mean. They’ve been through ordeal after ordeal. To reach the end and the possible beginning of that light at the end of the tunnel? It’s just…nice.

Currently…

I’m taking on quite a bit in the shortest month of the year. I can’t promise they’ll all be read by the end but I’m pretty excited about getting started on these.

More to come soon…
