Sundown Rundown – October 2020

Hey there book lovers!

I know, I know, I’m a tad late. But with getting my Halloween celebrating on and work getting hectic, I’m sorry. But! Here we are.

The sun is setting a lot sooner and it’s time to get cozy. So, while you’re getting cozy and having some hot cocoa (unless you’re like me and prefer hot tea) take a scroll to see what reviews you might’ve missed from October.

The Carnivorous Carnival (ASOUE #9)

Author: Lemony Snicket

Wikipedia

The Baudelaires join a freak show in order to survive. Being in disguise isn’t as easy as they thought it’d be.

Practical Demonkeeping

Author: Christopher Moore

Goodreads

Nothing like being attached o a demon for eternity.

Nancy Drew: The Curse

Author: Michol Ostow

Goodreads

The hit CW show tackled a fun and suspenseful prequel that may just be the start of Nancy questioning all she knows

Fall of Night (MV #14)

Author: Rachel Caine

Goodreads

Claire finally leaves Morganville to fulfill her dream, but is it any surprise that it followed her?

The Twin

Author: Natasha Preston

Amazon

Tip? If your twin is borrowing your clothes and your friends then starts acting like you, she may be trying to steal your life. Especially so if she killed your mother and blamed it on you.

The Unleashed

Author: Danielle Vega

Penguin Teen

Why play with a ouija board when you can just hold a seance? Hendricks tried to contact Eddie who was lost in the Steele House fire, but something else replied and Hendricks realizes something about herself that could mean the end of her if she isn’t careful.

Favorite Book the Month: The Unleashed really whipped out some freshness mixed with originality and a classic trope. I really enjoyed it and was hooked from the first page to the last. I need another one!

Least Favorite Book of the Month: The Twin felt hyped up only to be a letdown. It had so much potential. Such a bummer. It just didn’t feel thoroughly written ot even thought out.

I may not have gotten to review all of my Halloween picks but I’m on my way to. I’ve really enjoyed delving deeper then usual into my favorite genre(s) and getting to share them with you. Now, onto turkey-time!

More to come soon…
