Halloween Book Tag – Horror Movie Edition

Hello book fiends!

You read that title right! This Halloween I’ve got a fun one! Unless you hate horror movies. You can totally skip this and I won’t feel offended in the slightest. LOL.

I’m a big fan of AMC’s Fearfest and was inspired. So, take a scroll, have some fun, and take it for a whirl yourself! Here we go!

The first character to die…

A book that you tried to read but couldn’t get past a couple of chapters.

Author: Meg Cabot

I read it, but with so much difficulty. My interest level walked right on out the door. Kind of bummed, too, because I’ve read a few other Cabot book and really enjoyed them.

The teacher/principal that always ends up dead…

A book where that had a character death you didn’t cry about or hate.

Slade House
Author: David Mitchell

I read this book earlier this year and what had me going was being intrigued about how these characters came to their demise rather than feel sad about it because the dark magic and striking creepiness of the house that trapped them was wild and mind-boggling. Just one twisted

The scene where the hot girl/guy gets killed because there’s always that one.

A book with a great villain death.

The Ocean at the End of The Lane
Author: Neil Gaiman

Written like a scary fairytale, the villain of the one was a creepy lady form who knows where haunting this kid. She gave me some serious chills and I was not sad to see her go.

Time for the scene where everyone regroups to try and figure out how to not die.

A book that had a lot of characters but it worked.

The Morganville Vampires
Author: Rachel Caine

Reading this for the fourth time around, I’m still in awe of how well Caine keeps up with her characters. She literally keeps up with an entire town. I’m always impressed.

The witty best friend just died and that sucked!

A book with a death that made you rage or cry hard enough that you had to set the book aside for a while.

King’s Cage
Author: Victoria Aveyard

So…spoiler here, but Shade. I still don’t handle it well. Nope.

The call for help was a success! The cop on duty arrives but he gets ganked.

A book that started out good but quickly went downhill.

Author: Jeanne Ryan

I was excited and thrilled but as the book went on it lost its zeal. These dares that the main character had to follow were extremely cringy and so was most of the dialogue. Bummer.

Plot twist! The boyfriend/girlfriend is the killer.

A book with a shocking character reveal.

Author: Stephanie Garber

The goal is to discover who Legend, the game maker and player, creator of the unimaginable, and it was still surprising when it was revealed. Like, I had a feeling, but still.

The final girl discovers the cop lived and they both make it to the sequel

A book that made you so excited for the next one that you pre-ordered it.

The Haunted & The Unleashed
Author: Danielle Vega

I loved The Haunted last year! An exhilarating and nail-biting ghost ride that I couldn’t put down. I didn’t even know there was going to be a sequel/ The moment I heard you best believe I pre-ordered that one. I wanted more ghostly chills. Just amazing storytelling. Loved it!

I’m not tagging anyone this round because if you want to do it then go for it! It’s a lot of fun and will get you thinking for a hot second. Happy Halloween!

More to come soon…
