Welcome to Speedy Quote Sunday where I share some quotes from books that have made some sort of impression on me whether good, bad, sad, sappy, inspirational…you get it. I enjoy doing this so much because it’s a part of me and sometimes there are moments while reading I can’t help but linger on. It’s the emotional and thoughtful bits that make a book sooooooo good. So, here are a couple of those quotes.
“Leaving someone can be as hard as being left.” (Road to Nowhere, Christopher Pike)
So much in such a small sentence. It hit me as if I drove right into a tree. As the book is about a young girl who’s lost her boyfriend to her best friend and is struggling with the next steps in her life where she is at a crossroads, this line really put a spike in my heart with how true is rings.
“Just be yourself. Or be a unicorn. One of the two.” (The Burning Shadow, Jennifer L. Armentrout)
If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m an avid fan of JLA. She knows how to get my blood pumping with anticipation and always has me grabbing her next new book. This quote just proved that the funny is just as important as the emotional.
And there you have it! Have a happy Sunday, my precious book nerds.
More to come soon…
