Howdy, book wranglers!
This is Speedy Quote Sunday where I’ll share a couple of quotes that have really reached out to me from books. Every once in a while there are some that just do that and leave you thoughtful.
“True love, like any other strong and addicting drug, is boring once the tale of encounter and discovery is told, kisses quickly grow stale and caresses tiresome…except, of course to those who share the kisses, who give and take the caresses while every sound and color of the world seems to deepen and brighten around them. As with any other strong drug, true love is really only interesting to those who have become is dangerous.” (Wizard and Glass, Stephen King)
Describing love isn’t easy. Talking about it isn’t any easier either and you wouldn’t expect it amid an intricate and intense fantasy such as The Dark Tower. This one really stood out because it was like a drink of water in a hot desert.
“Her thoughts felt like birds taking flight, but she couldn’t tell if they were flying toward some new freedom or away from some unseen danger.” (The Devil’s Thief, Lisa Maxwell)
It just blew me away. Imaginative and I found myself reading it more than once. Just stunningly beautiful that also sits on a dangerous ledge that leaves you teetering.
More to come soon…
